A section of Highway 11 in Fort Frances is temporarily closed because of a nearby fire.

|The nature of the fire is unknown but smoke from the fire is drifting toward the highway, reducing visibility.

The closure is between Pit Road 1 and Oakwood Drive.

It is uncertain how long the road will be closed.

Member of the Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Services are on the scene.

Meantime, a section of Highway 11 east of Atikokan has also been shutdown due to a forest fire.

Ontario Provincial Police says the road closure is between Crystal Inet Road and the Sapawe junction.
