A Sackville man faces drug trafficking charges after he was pulled over by police in Digby County.
On Sept. 1, at about 7:40 p.m., RCMP say they were on their to way to respond to a non-emergency call when they saw a Ford Taurus near exit 27 of Highway 1, with no license plate, according to a news release.
Officers pulled the car over and learned the driver was on conditions to not be in Digby County.
Police arrested the man, 23, for breaching his conditions.
During the arrest, they noticed a collapsible baton in the back seat, the release says.
When they searched the vehicle, they found what they believe is cocaine.
The man was charged with:
- Possessing drugs for trafficking
- Possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Five counts of failing to comply with undertaking
He appeared in court on Tuesday and was released on conditions.
