A trustee with the Rainy River District School Board has resigned.

Michael Graham was one of two trustees acclaimed in the 2022 election to serve the Fort Frances area.

His resignation was announced during Tuesday night’s meeting.

Fellow trustee Mike Walchuk says Graham’s presence at the board table will be missed.

“Michael was a determined advocate for our students. He was authentic, sincere, wholehearted, and loved working with everyone on the board. I’m going to miss the thought-provoking ideas that he brought to the policy committee and the passion that he brought to all of our needs at the Rainy River District School,” says Walchuk.

No reason for Graham’s departure was mentioned.

In accepting Graham’s resignation, trustees voted to appoint his replacement at a later date.

John Fuhrer, the trustee for the Emo-Nestor Falls-Chapple and area will also take over Graham’s spot on the board’s policy committee.
