RCMP have closed Cow Bay Road between Samuel Danial Drive and Dyke Road, and Orion Road.

They are asking that the public avoid the area and use an alternate route.

Immediate neighbours have been asked to shelter in place as a precaution.

RCMP say a person has barricaded himself inside a home on Orion Road in Eastern Passage.

They add there is no public safety threat to anyone.

There is heavy police presence in the area and firefighter are also on scene.
