A man was injured during an arrest in Halifax.

It happened Monday night on Scot Street and Joseph Howe Drive.

Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of an intoxicated man on a Halifax Transit bus, who potentially possessed a knife.

It took multiple officers to control the man, one of the officers was bitten and required medical attention.

The man was assessed at the prisoner care facility, and was diagnosed with a broken rib.

The Serious Incident Response Team is investigating.
