Parts of northwestern Ontario are bracing for significant snowfall this weekend.

There is a snowfall warning for Thunder Bay and several surrounding communities, including Cloud Bay, Dorion, Kakabeka Falls, Whitefish Lake, Arrow Lake, Nipigon, Rossport, Marathon, Schreiber

Heavy snow is expected to develop Saturday evening and continue through Sunday

Forecasters said 15 to 25 centimetres of snow is expected, with locally higher amounts possible over higher terrain.

“The highest accumulations are expected near the northern shore of the lake,” Environment Canada said in the warning.

Motorists are urged to be prepared to adjust their driving to changing road conditions.
