Over the weekend, ELTON JOHN wrapped up his final shows in what would be his final dates on TOUR.  That’s it.  52 years on the road, and he had his final show of his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour”.

Elton’s tour was put on hold during the pandemic, but resumed and in the end, he delivered over 300 concerts to over 6 million fans and generated close to $800 million in revenue.   Over his career, had 49 ‘official tours’.

Here’s what he told Entertainment Weekly about his final tour:

“When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn’t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour — and the whole world — would have experienced in the next five years.  And every step of the way, my fans have been there. They have stuck with me, they have supported me, they have been patient, and they have kept turning out for every single last show.  Tonight has been magical. I’m trying to process it, and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’ve finally finished touring. I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me — it will stay with me forever.”

Elton released his first album in 1969, and went on to release 30 more, along with 10 soundtrack albums, including 1994’s “The Lion King”.

Along with singing, Elton has appeared mostly as himself in some very famous films and tv shows:  The Nanny, The Simpsons, South Park and 2017’s “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”.

For now, Elton will probably take a well-deserved break…and who knows, he might add another album to his ‘resume’.  At 76 years old….he’s still got it.
