It’s a ‘three-peat for the Southwest Storm.
They are once again the Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League champions.
They beat the East Hants Penguins 5-2 in Game 7 on the road Sunday.
Ethan Brannen scored twice, Riley Hubbard, Brady Nickerson and Alex Swaine also had goals, and Tyson Peters got the win in net with 29 saves.
The Penguins didn’t make it easy on the Storm.
Southwest went up 3-1 in the series, but East Hants won Game 5 at home Friday and Game 6 in Barrington on Saturday night.
Now the Storm can celebrate their third straight title, they’ve won every year since joining the league in 2021/22.
They’ll move on to the Maritime Junior C hockey championship in Miramichi later this month.
