Most of mainland Nova Scotia could receive lots of rain in a short period Tuesday.

Heavy showers and scattered thundershowers associated with the remnants of Post-Tropical Cyclone Chantal will continue to impact some counties during the morning.

Environment Canada’s special weather statement calls for potential rainfall rates in excess of 25 mm per hour.

The forecaster advises that warnings may be required on short notice.
