Thunder Bay Police Chief, Sylvie Hauth, has handed in her papers.
In an email to media, the Chief noted that she gave intent to retire to the Thunder Bay Police Services board.
Her retirement date is set for June 14, 2023 after which she’ll have completed 30 years as an officer with the Thunder Bay Police Force.
Part of her statement reads.
…dedicated myself to organizational change within our Service, in a collaborative, consistent and transparent way. I can say with confidence that the Thunder Bay Police Service will continue to evolve thanks to the people who remain focused on serving and protecting all members of this great community.
She also hopes that with a years notice to the Board, that this will allow them time to find a replacement. Hauth went onto say that she remains committed to her role as Chief and will do everything she can to ensure a proper transition takes place with the newly appointed Chief in 2023.
