It’s always fun to take part in the Teddy Bear Toss during Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey games, with all the toys given to charities. In Hershey, Pennsylvania the American Hockey League‘s Hershey Bears had theirs on Saturday night in their 5-0 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack. After the Bears got their first goal, fans started hurling teddy bears on the ice and set a new world record for the toss with a total of 52,341 bears.

Bears fan and cancer survivor Jeff Sweigart said if the record was broken he would donate $50,000 to charity, and he did to the Children’s Miracle Network. One of the Bears players jumped into the huge pile of stuffed bears.
