This story comes from Dawsonville, Georgia.  Alyssa, pulled into a gas station and she had no idea what she was about to walk into. Outside of the gas station, she noticed a man sitting there, and according to her: it looked like he was holding the weight of the world on his shoulders.  She walked up to him and offered him some water bottles and snacks.  He accepted them with no hesitation.

Before she got into her car, she walked back up to him and asked him, “Can I say a prayer with you”?  He said, “absolutely”.

When Alyssa got home, she was still thinking about the man at the gas station.  She got her family together and they made a care package. It included a blanket, pillow and lots of snacks!  They went back to the gas station to find him. His name is Johnny.  She later found out that he’s in his early 70s, and has been homeless for almost 20 years.  Alyssa asked some of her friends if they’d be up to pooling some money together….enough to get him into a motel for a week.

She’s now reached out to other agencies to help Johnny.  She wants to do everything she can to give him a new lease on life.
