With school coming to an end this week, I wanted to take this opportunity to give a huge thanks to all Teachers, Students and Staff…..for everything that you’ve endured in 2020-2021.
Back and forth between in-class learning and online learning. It was very frustrating for everyone.
My son is completing Grade 10 at St. Ignatius. He had a good year. One thing he was ‘bummed’ about….was his Grade 10 WELDING glass. It was in the 4th Quadmester, and he was so excited at the beginning of the school year to take this class. Well, here we are wrapping up the 4th Quadmester…and Joseph and his class (just like everyone else)….didn’t have in-class learning. How do you teach a ‘welding’ course on-line? Turns out….his teacher managed well and Joseph learned quite a bit about the welding process. BUT, it would have been amazing to have the ‘hands on’ learning required for this course
From the “did you know file”: there are over 2 million students from JK thru Grade 12 enrolled in Ontario. There are over 126,000 full time Teachers, 7,500 Principals and Vice Principals, and over 10,000 Early Childhood Educators.
As this year’s classes come to an end, I want to thank the Teachers, Staff and Students for everything you’ve done to navigate through this very ‘interesting’ year. Let’s hope we can return to some sense of normalcy this September.
Have a spectacular summer….you deserve it.
Cheers to a great day!
