It was 56 years ago this week (1969), SESAME STREET first aired on PBS.

Jim Henson’s puppets – teaching letters, numbers and colours.  It’s now seen in over 140 countries!  Today, the children’s television series is available on NETFLIX.  Sesame Street is considered one of the greatest television series of all time.  A recent survey claims 95% of all preschoolers in both the U.S and Canada alone had watched the series by the time they were 3. 

It’s won over 220 Emmy’s, 11 Grammys, and remains one of the longest running shows in the world.  Think about the most popular puppets that have become part of our children’s lives, and your life growing up:

56 years ago this week, the world was introduced to SESAME STREET!  And we still ask the famous question: “Can you tell me how to get – how to get to Sesame Street”?
