Thunder Bay man charged with impaired driving after Highway 11-17 crash
A 28-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing impaired driving and dangerous operation charges following a collision on Highway 11-17 early Saturday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Thunder Bay detachment were called to the crash near John Street at about 12:50 a.m. on September 20. During the investigation, officers determined one of the drivers had been consuming alcohol.
The man was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing. Police say he has been charged with impaired operation, dangerous driving, and additional Highway Traffic Act offences related to being a novice driver.
He was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 22.
