Thunder Bay Police say they have arrested the suspect wanted in a fatal hit and run on Monday.

As a result of information provided by the public and the investigation by police the suspect was identified.

A 39 year old man from the Big Grassy First Nation faces a number of charges including: dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, failing to stop at an accident resulting in death, failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and operation of a motor vehicle was prohibited.

A 42 year old man died from his injuries and a 38 year old woman remains in hospital in critical condition.

The suspect appeared in Thunder Bay Court today on the charges and has been remanded into custody pending a future appearance date.
