The Town of Riverview is closing some of its trails due to the ongoing extreme wildfire hazard.

That includes the Mill Creek Nature Park and the Dobson Trail.

The Perseids Meteor Shower Party planned this evening in Mill Creek has also been cancelled, and the Block Party for Wards 3 and 4 scheduled for August 12 has also been called off.

The Town says the Riverfront and Gunningsville trails remain open to the public.

A reminder that there is a fire ban in place. Barbecues and natural gas, and propane fire pits are permitted because they do not create sparks or embers..
