The search is on for three suspects after a Saint John Transit driver was assaulted over the weekend.

Police said they were called to King Street in the city’s uptown shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

It is reported that the driver was dropping off three teenagers — two women and a man.

“After exiting the front of the bus, the male sprayed a chemical irritant into the bus,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

Paramedics treated the driver at the scene and no other physical injuries were reported.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and have not yet been located.

One was wearing a red hoodie, blue pants, and a backpack, another had long curly hair, and the other was wearing their hair up in a bun.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
