Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after police in Thunder Bay responded to reports of unwanted people in a home.

Officers were sent to Amelia Street West on Tuesday after receiving a call for assistance.

When they arrived and entered the home, they found two individuals who were not supposed to be there.

The suspects were both arrested.

A search of the home led to the seizure of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, as well as knives and items associated with drug trafficking.

As a result, a 50-year-old and a 34-year-old are facing the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Both of the accused remain in custody with future court dates.
