Highway 17, Highway 11, and Highway 11/17 have been closed in a few spots due to an early spring snowstorm.

Highway 11/17 was initially closed just west of the Highway 11 and Highway 17 split in Nipigon.

The closure occurred around 6:10 p.m.

The Highway was closed further from the split to Red River Road in Thunder Bay around 6:40 p.m.

Highway 11 was closed from Atikokan to Shabaqua around 6:50 p.m.

Highway 17 was announced as closed from Dryden to Shabaqua shortly after.

The Ministry of Transportation noted poor weather conditions as the cause of the closure.

Environment Canada has put Winter Storm and Snowfall Warnings in place in much of northwestern Ontario for Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
