Some recent video was released to show the power of Mother Nature. The time-lapse video of a supercell thunderstorm has gone viral and was taken by storm chaser Jenny Hagan, dumping rain over farmland in southwestern Saskatchewan. The area was under a thunderstorm warning at the time. A supercell is a thunderstorm with a deep persistent rotating updraft. They are rare but are responsible for most severe weather events, like tornadoes. Amazing and creepy at the same time.
Sunset #skstorm are simply put the best. The lightning was flashing off frame unfortunately but man! Last night June 27 near Cantuar #Saskatchewan pic.twitter.com/icd2iRYVPK
