The Minnesota Department of Transportation is back with its annual ‘Name a Snowplow’ contest.

MnDOT received over 8,000 suggestions in a previous call for possible names.

Fifty finalists have been selected for a public vote.

The top eight vote-getters will be assigned to plows across the state.

Some of the names include a play on celebrity names like Alice Scooper, Taylor Drift and Dolly Plowton.

Others have a link to movies such as Clark W. Blizzwald (National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation), Fast and Flurrious and Barbie’s Dream Plow.

There are also a few song titles to consider such as A Plow Named Sue, Scrape, Rattle and Roll, and Sweet Child O’Brine.

This is the fourth year for the contest, with 24 plow trucks previously named.

Previous selections have included Plow Bunyan, Betty Whiteout, Yer a Blizzard, Harry and Duck, Duck Orange Truck.

Voting ends this Sunday.
