Wild footage was released this week by a conservation group known as the Help Alberta Wildies Society(HAWS) that shows 6 horses and 1 foal racing past with a grizzly bear close behind. The incident was recorded on the eastern slopes of the Rockies on May 26. The group works to protect roaming bands of wild horses and their footage of the chase on their Facebook page gained a lot of attention when it was shared online. The group has several cameras set up in the wilderness to record the well-being of the animals and say they’ve recorded 8 different bears on their cameras over the past few weeks. Grizzlies can run up to 56 km or 35 miles an hour and the society said they are losing a lot of horses this year, sooner than in past years, and not just foals but adults as well.  Not sure what the outcome was of this chase.
