There is going to be a new look to Tim Hortons restaurants in northwestern Ontario.

The corporation has announced renovations to facilities in Fort Frances and Thunder Bay, and the construction of a new one in Dryden.

The improvements are part of a $400 million renovation plan, impacting 480 restaurants across the country.

The work will include better light, improved layouts and designs, an updated baked goods showcase, improved digital ordering and pick up and updated kitchen equipment.

“Tim Hortons was built in Canada by Canadians, and we are proud to continue investing in Canada to give our guests beautiful, modern restaurants to enjoy,” states Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, in a release.

“These are Canadian families investing their own money in their own communities – and that’s something we’re proud of.”

The company states local and regional tradespeople will be hired for the work.

It also intends to source renovation and construction materials through Canadian-owned businesses, with most items manufactured on Canadian soil.

The improvements are scheduled to take place this year.
