Thunder Bay Police were called to Frederica Street East at 6 p.m Tuesday after reports of an injured women in a parking lot.

Police, investigators, and the Major Crimes Unit are currently looking into the incident, and it appears the women was shot.

The victim was taken by Superior North EMS to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for evaluation and treatment, though it seems as though her injuries are non-life threatening.

Police are still investigating and the public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
