A teen has pleaded guilty to several charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing from police in Grand Bay-Westfield.

RCMP arrested a 17-year-old boy on Thursday.

According to a news release, police attempted to stop a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse on Nerepis Road.

As police approached, the driver fled from police by speeding through a school zone.

Officers did not pursue the vehicle.

A short time later, the vehicle was located on Eagle Road in Welsford.

The teen appeared in Saint John court on Friday and pleaded guilty to charges of possession of stolen property, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and breach of probation.

The boy remains in custody, awaiting a future court date for sentencing.
