Several people have been arrested, including three Toronto teens and two Toronto men, after an incident at a Westfort apartment unit overnight.

Thunder Bay Police Service Officers were sent to an area on Amelia Street West after reports of three suspects forcing their way into an apartment while in possession of a shotgun. Policed arrived and prepared to contain the room, though two suspects fled. One of these men was arrested after a struggle with police in which he assaulted one of the arresting officers.

Police were then able to contain the scene and seize the shotgun.

Further investigation led to police identifying other suspects connected to the forced entry, locate and arrest them. They were transported to TBPS headquarters.

Shawn James Wade PRATT, 50, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:

• Use of a Firearm While Attempting to Commit Offence
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm with Knowledge its Possession is Unauthorized
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
• Breach of Probation
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crim Under $5,000
• Breach of Probation

Anthony Omar TALBERT, 28, of Toronto, is charged with:

• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm with Knowledge its Possession is Unauthorized
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
• Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
• Failure to Comply with Judicial Release Order

Three 17-year-old males from Toronto are each charged with:

• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm with Knowledge its Possession is Unauthorized

The identity of the youths involved are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
